FILE HANDLER v1.03 Copyright (c) 1994 Mark Bloss
All Rights Reserved.
New for version 1.03
────────────────────
It is no longer necessary to delete FH.CFG before installing your
new version of File Handler, unless your FH.CFG is from a very
early Beta Release and is flagged Read-Only. If you received
version 0.90ß of FH, and you added the line SET FHDIR=drive:\path to
your AUTOEXEC.BAT file, you may now remove it. I've fixed the need
for it in the new installation procedures. FH will not be making any
changes to your start-up files, and there are none required.
Use the INSTALL program included with this archive to make File Handler
available for you to enjoy. See the FH.DOC file for more information
on installation and File Handler's newest features.
Version 1.03 is an update to correct the problems Monochrome users
were having with the unreadable screens. If you use a B&W, LCD, or
Amber monitor, please include the -M switch on the command-line upon
start-up. If you still have difficulty seeing everything properly after
using the -M switch, you might try adjusting the contrast control on your
monitor, or using the color-configuration screen to make any minor
adjustments needed. If you do, please drop me a line and let me know what
you did! Thanks.
Also Version 1.03 has been compiled into an .EXE file, eliminating the
need for overlays. You will now have only FHMAIN.EXE and FH.HLP as the
required files to run File Handler. The FH.BAT file created during the
installation procedure is also required if you want to use the Exit and
Execute function of the program.
If you are already familiar with File Handler, you shouldn't notice any
difference in the way this new executable functions. However, it will
run slightly faster due to the lack of overlays which had the disadvantage
of loading from disk during program execution.
Thanks for Using File Handler!
